Question: Do
you charge a set-up or tape charge for embroidered logos on shirts and other apparel
items? (customer in Pennsylvania)
Answer: It depends on several factors including how
many garments you are going to purchase from us, how complicated your logo is and how many
stitches will be required to embroider your logo. Most logos require 8,000 or fewer
stitches, so if yours falls into this category and you plan to order 50 or more garments,
we will probably not charge you for a set-up or tape. We will confirm this case by case.
If you are interested in having apparel items embroidered, please send us a copy of your
logo or the design that you are going to have embroidered and we will give you a firm
answer. You may e-mail your logo, fax it or mail it to us.
Question: I don't have a logo
for my company, but I want one so I can have it embroidered on caps and shirts. Can you
help? (California)
Answer: Yes, we can help you with a new logo for your
company and for embroidery on your promotional apparel. The cost of creating a logo for
you can range from $200.00 to several thousand dollars. You can call us to discuss your
needs and your budget for this or you can send us samples of your existing stationery and
business card. We will submit a formal quote for developing your new logo based on the
information that you supply to us.
Question: When I pay for a set-up to
have my logo printed on the items that I am ordering from you, does this same set-up cover
anything I order from you in the future? (Delaware)
Answer: No. If you have us make an embroidery set-up
for shirts, caps, jackets and other cloth apparel items, we will probably be able to use
that same embroidery set-up on anything you order from us in the future. That embroidery
set-up does not cover other forms of decorating such as silk-screening, hot-stamping,
die-striking, pad-printing or any of the many other forms of applying logos to products.
Each process requires a new set-up and the cost of this set-up will be quoted to you at
the time that we quote you on the items to be imprinted. In most cases these set-ups that
you pay for will be held at the factory where the item is made and decorated, so you can
re-order more of that same exact item and not have to pay the set-up cost again. Factories
usually keep these set-up plates, screens or other tooling for up to 2 years. If you wait
3 years or longer to re-order, you may be required to pay for a new set-up. Silk-screens,
plates and tooling of this type usually costs from $30 to $50, but some processes such as
laser engraving and die-striking may cost more.
